Firefox web browser malfunction: pages do not load, browser crashes
As reported by heise online (german), there have been glitches with the Firefox web browser since this Thursday morning, Jan. 13, 2022. All versions seem to be affected, including the latest 96.0.
As a workaround, it seems promising to disable the collection of telemetry data, i.e. remove all checkmarks from "Firefox Data collection".
BBB MacOS Security & Privacy Settings
If the first time you use BigBlueButton with a MacOS computer microphone, camera or screen sharing does not work, this may be due to incorrect security settings.
Information on using our ticket system
Due to the current situation, most of our IT group is located in the home office. If you have a request or a question, please use our ticket system. We ask you not to recycle an old ticket, because this way the ticket is not recognized as a new but as an old ticket and will appear at the bottom of our system and might be overlooked. You can also leave out the "thank you" mail after we solved the problem, because this will open the ticket again and we have to close it a second time.
BigBlueButton and the Microsoft Edge Browser
Microsoft Edge is the default web browser on Windows 10. If you want to use Edge to join a BigBlueButton meeting you need to update to a recent version that is based on the Chromium engine.

However, this affects not only the BBB server, but also the participants who use very different Internet providers and who have to share the connections with family members and neighbors. Connection errors with the emailservices of the university
The ZDV changed the type of connection for the univeristy email from StartTLS (port 143) to SSL (port 993). You can modify this in the settings of your email software.

Fraudsters are currently sending fake applications to prepare dynamite phishing.
In dynamite phishing, the attackers send e-mails to a target with the intention of forcing them to open the e-mail attachment.
